Sophisticated vintages abound, annual Wine Spectator Awards, collections housing over 1000 bottles - wine connoisseurs have a lot to be thankful for in Cayman. Your only challenge will be choosing where to wine and dine and, of course, whether to pair your meal with an old world vintage or a bold, experimental newbie!
Cayman's restaurants hand out menus accompanied by extensive wine lists, and in-house sommeliers help guide you through the options – and the quality of service is matched only by the breadth of selection!
What's more, a number of Cayman's restaurants and bars offer vintages unique to their eatery, and many house their dizzying array of bottles (upwards of 1000 in some cases!) in carefully constructed, state-of-the-art, climate-controlled cellars. Below we raise a glass to Cayman's best wine collections.
Vines to Ocean (v2o) is Grand Cayman's newest addition to the wine bar scene. Located in Regency Court on Seven Mile Beach, they have a beautiful collection of wines and also offer a raw bar experience as well as charcuterie boards with delicious cheeses and meats.
LUCA Restaurant on SMB has a wine cellar to rival anything in Cayman. It has received the Wine Spectator Award every year since 2008, and since 2010 their award was upgraded to Best of Award of Excellence. With a refreshingly modern design, the two climate controlled wine rooms hold 4,500+ bottles and over 1,100 different varieties from around the globe.
Situated on the breezy Camana Bay waterfront, you'll find the chic and sophisticated Agua restaurant. Winner of the Wine Spectator Award annually since 2011 and upgraded to Best of Award of Excellence for the past five years, Agua offers a spectacular wine collection impeccably paired with their renowned and popular seafood menu that is rooted in Italian tradition and inspired by Peruvian cuisine. Agua is also the home of the renowned Sommelier Stand-off!
Ragazzi’s wine list has received the Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence every year since 2003 and was upgraded in 2010 to Best of Award of Excellence. With over 900 selections to choose from, Ragazzi’s wine list is created with the following culinary philosophy in mind: that food and wine are intended to complement each other as only Italians know best.
After being open for less than a year, Aria received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for their superb wine list. Being a Mediterranean restaurant, most of their wines are sourced from Italy, France and Spain ect. However, they also have a range of whites, reds and rosés from around the world.
